In today’s rapidly evolving military and defense technology landscape, safeguarding intellectual property (IP) is crucial. Defense contractors and military equipment manufacturers constantly push the boundaries of what’s possible, developing cutting-edge solutions to address emerging threats and challenges. Midwest Engineered Systems, a trusted provider of factory automation integration solutions, understands the significance of protecting IP for the defense manufacturing industry. MWES ensures the security of our client’s IP, by practicing complete facility security measures, digital safeguarding and compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

MWES has built a strong reputation for high-quality, dependable automated equipment integration for over thirty years. Our meticulous design process ensures that every detail, from functionality to safety, meets the highest standards. Moreover, we consider our customer’s IP protection through all phases of the process ensuring that proprietary information remains confidential.

How MWES Secures IP

The MWES 100,000-square-foot facility follows advanced 24/7 monitoring and security protocols that prevent unauthorized use, theft, and cyber and industrial espionage. We require non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) as standard practice with any business we work with. Moreover, all employees receive training on handling sensitive information and are required to sign an NDA upon hire and we restrict access to certain areas of the facility to only authorized personnel. Lastly, our onsite IT department runs regular security audits to identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

MWES ITAR Compliance

MWES complies with the set of United States government regulations that control the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the United States Munitions List (USML). Additionally, MWES is registered with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). As such, MWES is audited by third parties for program compliance and retested every two years to maintain our certification. This ensures that we remain up-to-date with the latest ITAR regulations and best practices.

MWES’s commitment to quality, security and compliance makes us a trusted partner for defense contractors and military equipment manufacturers. By safeguarding IP, we contribute to the national security of our country and support our shared objectives.
